Birthday cupcakes with Baileys ganache

Today I thought I'd spice up my cupcakes a bit. For a friends birthday I made white chocolate mudcake cupcakes with Baileys ganache. Covered with fondant, and decorate with a pearl, they went down a treat. Secretly though, the inner kid in me just loves loves loves, cupcakes with good old vanilla buttercream!

Cupcakes to celebrate

After a long and rainy week - did I mention it was school holidays... - today was a beautiful sunny day. Time for cupcakes. Today I made a batch of vanilla cupcakes with my home-made vanilla extract, made from Tahitian vanilla beans. Tahitian vanilla extract smells beautiful and fruity, very different from the rich and decadent Madagascar Bourbon vanilla.
To top it off I used whipped white chocolate ganache. Do not try to imagine what it tastes like please, because you will get instant chocolate cravings!

May I present...

Finally, all the hard work of the last year is paying off! Today, Wild sugar Rose is being launched as a fully grown (but still small!) business.

Check out our new flashy website at www.wildsugarrose.com.au

It is a big feeling of relief that all the paperwork is done, but also a feeling of excitement about all the cakes and adventures that are coming up. We are going to be very busy in the next couple of months with displays, events and, of course, making cakes and cupcakes. So stay tuned!

Purple Rose

Here is a sample wedding cupcake for a wedding later in the year. The colour combination of deep purple and light green is just beautiful. I love this type of elegant design, inspired by the amazing cupcake creations of Le Cupcake, Zalita and Sugarbloom Cupcakes So much art on such a small surface!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! I hope you will all have a great Easter break, with lots of fun with your family and friends. I can't wait to hide eggs in the backyard for my daughter, like my parents used to do for us kids and enjoy Easter with my family. Here's a little cupcake to celebrate!
